I think I butchered Bethany's hair.
We were trying on her new bike helmet this morning, trying to get the straps all adjusted right. I had to keep putting in on and off, to make little fixes. It was time to trim her bangs, anyway, but the rest of her hair was so long and beautiful. She didn't like it, though, especially under the helmet. She asked me to cut it all off. She's made a few other comments before that it was too long and hot, so I decided to oblige her.
My mistake.
She wouldn't hold still, so it was really hard to cut. When I would try to fix my crooked cuts, she's move again. It kept getting shorter and shorter. I finally just gave up. It looks okay, I guess, but it's still not straight, and in places is even a bit jagged. I just don't like it. It was so pretty. Sigh. I guess it will all grow back eventually, and I can't wait.
She likes it, though. When I asked if she liked it, she said, "I certainly do". So at least she's happy. But for whatever odd reason, she's decided that she's not Bethany anymore. With her short hair, she's just Nee-Nee. When it gets long again, then she'll be Bethany again. Silly girl.
When Meagan saw her new haircut, she started begging me to cut her hair, too. I didn't want to, because I was still out of sorts about Bethany's hair, but she kept begging, so I went ahead and cut hers, too. Hers is easier, because she's got a bit of a wave to it, so it hides mistakes, and naturally curls under a bit. I've cut hers several times now, and it's not so bad. She's got a new name with her haircut, too. She informed me that she's now Meagan-cup. Okay, whatever makes you happy, kid. :)
